        Hi everyone, I’m new here.

I’ve been a proud rabbit owner for the last two years and decided to go out and about to find like-minded people who share my love for them.

        This here is my bunny:

His name is Theo.I named him after my dad who unfortunately passed away a year before I got him. For the most part he is the most mellow and calm little furball you’d ever see. He spends most of his time stretching out and relaxing. This all changes when I bring food into the picture however. Whenever I shake his bag of treats or go to give him his fill of hay he perks right up and dashes right for me begging to be fed. He’s lightning quick and it’s simply adorable. He gets so worked up when he realizes he’s going to get food he’ll try nibbling through the bars of his cage to get to it.

Ever since I got him he’s had a very big impact on my life and has helped me cope with depression and loneliness more than anything. He’s given me strength and inspiration. When I first brought him home I was very nervous as I wasn’t sure if I would be a good caregiver. But now that it’s been two years and he’s still here as happy and healthy as ever I’ve gotten a major boost in confidence both in my attitude and creativity.

To provide an example of such, I made this painting of him a year ago and I think it turned out extraordinarily well:

I’d talk your ear off about my bunny for hours on end, but I’ll save that for when I get more active in the forums. Until then, take care and thanks for reading.

I also have a black lop, yay black bunnehs. Rabbits are wonderful emotional support, and I’m glad you two are so happy together

                Thanks for the warm welcome.

Not sure why there’s a weird string of code in my original post. Can’t seem to correct it for some reason. Oh well.

I feel Theo and I have gained a rather special bond over time. When I first got him he seemed afraid of contact and didn’t like being held and always kicked and thrashed about when I picked him up. Now he’s warmed up to me considerably. Being picked up still isn’t his favorite thing and he still doesn’t sit in my lap for very long when I try holding him (instead opting to hop off and run circles around me), but he’s not nearly as skittish when I first got him. I really do feel like I’ve been a positive influence on him and that in turn has really given me more confidence in my own ability. It’s hard to snap out of the mindset that you can’t do anything right when you’ve been constantly told that since you were a child. Needless to say getting Theo was the best mental health decision I’ve made in…well, ever come to think of it.

                  Haha, talk away.

Welcome to Binky Bunny to you and Theo! He’s a cutie. You got a great pic of him, it’s hard to photograph black bunnies.
That was a great way to honor your Dad, naming Theo after him. I am very sorry for you loss.
Rabbits and pets in general really make the world of difference when you are going through some tough times in life.

Re the code in your post, I edited it so it is now removed. We’re not sure why this happens in some peoples post. I suspect it is a grammar autocorrect setting on some mobile devices.

ETA: Love the painting you did!

                      Much appreciated.

My dad’s name was Theodore, so technically I only gave him half of my dad’s name. I felt it was fitting.

Hard to photograph black bunnies you say? Huh, can’t say I ever had much issue doing so really. I’ve taken literally hundreds of pictures of him. He seems to love the camera like that. lol

On that note, I may as well share a few more!

Haha, those last two images were taken when I was bringing him to my psych rehab group meetings for pet therapy purposes. He put a smile on everyone’s faces there with his silly antics. He gets into the strangest places. He once mistook a plastic tub on the floor filled with paperwork for a litter box and hilarity ensued.

Unfortunately, I’m no longer able to bring him with me anymore. Not because of the above instance, but because the transportation vans do a meals on wheels program and they don’t want to risk the rabbit around the food due to the possibility of allergies and whathaveyou. It was fun while it lasted though.
