So today my brother (roommate) came sprinting out of his room to throw something in the laundry [aparently it was drug juice on his work shirt] and his antics scared bandit so bad that he groomed a spot of fur off his back and he won’t come out from under my bed sadly. I scolded my brother and his only reply was “your rabbits a ‘female cat’  ” and left on his way. He seems fine and took a few treats but he pulled a big chunk out and ive been trying to reach it but i cant while hes under there as I dont want to scare him.

        Questions:

        1. Will his fur grow back? about the size of a quarter is missing.

        2. Do I have to take any special precautions? for the bald spot?

Mmm, it must be a self-soothing behaviour for him.
The fur should grow back, no worries. As long as he doesn’t continue to lick the spot. If you notice him doing it at other times, try just petting him (if he allows) as a way to distract him. He’ll probably go to wash himself after (as rabbits do!) but at least it’s a whole body wash and not concentrating on just the one spot.

If you find the bald spot has become irritated, you could put a little neosporin on it.

You might like to try something like Rescue Remedy for pets for times when he’s had a fright. Some people use it before taking their rabbits in the car or to the vet.

              Good to hear. : )
Maybe he’s coming into a moult also? Some buns can get completely bald spots during a moult. Then the new fur grows in within a few days.

I wouldn’t think so? He’s only 3.5 months old and he’s still on his baby coat, I’m expecting it to be around 6 months for his first huge molt but I’m unsure how it works as it’s sesional, only thing I’m sure of is emergency medical things and I know i offer advice but when it come to my own bun i prefer to ask others cause I don’t k ow everything

I find it certainly helps to voice any concerns I have about my rabbits.
