I swear I had two really well behaved buns until today! Just off of seven nightshifts, four hours sleep and looking forward to a day just chilling and maybe even napping on the sofa but no these two have other ideas.

They have been picking up their litter trays and flinging them about all morning. Now to be fair they were due cleaned out today, but I usually do them at night so I thought ok they clearly want them cleaned. So I spent half an hour cleaning their trays, the bottom of their dog crate and the floor under their pen, sweeped up a whole bag full of hay – that’s what I get for trying a new hay rack that’s not fixed to the bars! Refilled the litter trays with nice clean litter, refilled the devil hay rack because although its messy they seem to love it and even gave them a treat each. I swear I turned my back for a minute and they were flinging their toilets about again! They are making so much noise I’m never getting a nap in here. What has happened to my angelic bunnies?

They are currently doing their nut because they have blocked themselves in the dog crate by putting the litter trays infront of the door with the backs facing outwards so they are unable to hop over them, I have fixed this exact situation for them three times in the last two hours!!!

        I’m going back to bed!

The terrible, terrible little darlings!!!! “Mummy, mummy, you must come help!” Reminds me of when my dog was a wee pup and she would throw her ball into the small pond in the garden and couldn’t get it out herself. Like 50 times in a row. Every day =/

Yeah, they ended up somehow getting out of the crate, I had decided not to fix it immediately in the hope that that would somehow teach them a lesson lol then Ron had a full blown freak out because he couldn’t get back in!!! He has now flipped one of the litter trays up so its standing on its end and is lying down behind it. Bramble is just sort of staring at it as if he is trying to figure out how he is going to use it at this angle. There is litter everywhere!

Commiserations! You must be so beat after 7 nights. Do you get a decent amount of days off now?

I’ve been having early morning battles with Timbu lately. He starts digging and chewing on my bedding early in the morning when I could do with a couple more hours sleep. So I can understand your frustration with the monsters. Though, I did had to laugh about the litter boxes wedged in the doorway.

Hope this posts finds you nicely refreshed after some glorious, quality sleep!

I find my two at the moment are much more sprightly and even agressive when it comes to feed time. Instead of coming up to ME and claiming the food, Henry nips and bites Zou under the chin (thinking she gets it first? I don’t know!) round and round and round in circles before i throw the food on the floor in the middle of their waltzing circle and they realise its there….. poor Zou.

I finished Friday morning and am back for another four nights from tomorrow – ah the joys of nursing I guess!

Honestly I don’t know what got into them yesterday, maybe they were just excited to see me since I don’t usually do that many nights maybe they had missed me? They were just being a general nuisance the whole day. They were flinging their toilets about for most of the day and biting the bars, normally they only bite the bars to alert me that they are out of hay (or more accurately they have plenty, but its on the floor and they don’t want to eat it off the floor, even though it was them knocking over the devil hay rack that put it there in the first place!) Free roam time for them is usually in the evenings but I let them out mid day thinking perhaps because they haven’t been getting as many hours as they are used to the last few days (me being nights and the other half being away on a course for the last two days of my run of nights) that was what was upsetting them. Only they didn’t want out, each bun came out and sniffed a few things before going straight back to the crate to fling the toilets about some more!

Thankfully they are a lot more like their usual selves today
