Mr Basil gets a poopy bum sometimes from this, so I have descended to limit his pellets and give him more Timothy hay, but it seems he can’t even deal with a little bit less of his favourite treat and would rather stay hungry, sometimes he eats the hay but not enough! I’m really concerned for him and I want to make his life more enjoyable so if you guys have any tips please comment them

Sometimes we have to practice tough love and limit or reduce the amount of pellets to make rabbits eat more hay and be as healthy as possible, and prevent poopy butt. Don’t drastically reduce the amount, just do so slowly. Try different kinds of hay, such as orchard grass or meadow hay. Timothy isn’t always a rabbit’s favorite. Orchard grass is a little sweeter and softer, so many rabbits prefer that over timothy.

Thanks for your help. I’m currently trying to slowly remove his pellets. It’s been starting to work a bit. Timothy hay is his favourite because he likes the flavour and it’s a bit crunchy too

It’s good that your plan to reduce pellets is working. If he likes crunchy hay, he may like oat hay.
