So most of you will know my bunny Peant was spayed last week. But these past two days she has been very aggressive. She is shaking her x-pen like crazy, screwed on the tiles and now lunges at you. I am not sure if something is bothering her. Please see if you can see the video

It could be that your bunny is going through a post spay craze. Sometimes, after a rabbit has been spayed or neutered, it will go through a phase where it might be aggressive or act differently from before, due to fluctuating hormone levels.

Have you checked her incision site? If she has developed an infection or is not healing properly, that could also make her act up. Is she eating and pooping normally? If you can’t get a good look at the surgical area, you may need to take her to the vet just to make sure that she is healing properly. Hopefully, this behavior is due to the hormone levels and it will stop soon. But do take her in if you think there may be a problem.

she is eating and pooping normally. Just some crazy digging, shaking the cage and lunges. I tried to take a picture of her surgical area and it seems to be normal. i uploaded some pictures from a few days ago. she won’t let me pick her up as usual so i tried to take pictures as best as i can.

It’s not that easy to tell from the photos, but I don’t think that I see any irritation or infection or possible problems. That, coupled with the fact that she is eating and pooping normally, likely means that she is healing well and no longer has pain. So, it looks like it might be the fluctuating hormone levels causing the changes in her. You may just have to wait out this behavior for another 2 or 3 weeks.

I agree with Tobyluv. The surgical area looks fine. She’s eating and drinking, pooping and peeing. Hormonally driven aggression is not unheard of in a newly spayed doe. I hope it’ll settle down within a few weeks. Meanwhile just try to bear with her.

Yes i took her to the Vet that day and they said everything is normal. Will take out the stitches on Saturday. I moved her to my home for now since my gf is kind of scared of her. I will try to calm her down a bit and see. Thanks everyone.
