Milhouse took a hard fall from my arms of all places, knocking her front legs, and I am so so so upset. I immediately checked for obvious injuries and I think her leg is sore, but not broken. Does this call for an emergency vet check? We have an appointment on Wednesday! When I called the vet to ask if we should come in now they said “you know her better than anyone”…but she is only 4m and this hasn’t happened before she is currently laying down away from me, not wanting attention but of course I know rabbits hide their injuries…

Please let me know what you think. What would you do…? I feel so terrible…

What is her behaviour like compared to how it normally is?

Die to how fragile they are, generally I would take them to the vet ASAP.

So she was being standoffish (rightly so), but cuddling with Bart. She then started coming to me and hopped around a bit, and layers down next to me. I think she might be stunned and it is wearing off. She is still eating and drink and using the bathroom.

As long as she is eating etc. and moving around, I would just keep an eye on her for now. I think you are right that she was just stunned hopefully and not badly injured. However, I think you should keep your Wednesday appointment so that the vet can check the rotation and mobility of her front legs to make sure no x-rays are needed.

Like the vet said, you know her better than anyone. When I accidentally injured Bandit, while he didn’t make any sound to indicate he had been hurt, I could immediately tell from his behaviour that something very serious had happened. He couldn’t settle, kept laying down like he was trying to ease pain but would only sit still for a minute before getting up and trying to find somewhere else to lay to make it better. Every injury is of course different, but if it just seems sore and she is getting around well, acting normally and eating well, I would probably just keep an eye on her.
