I have an abundance of wild mustard. My buns love it! Is there anyway I can dry it and save? If so how do you recommend drying it? Just laying it out for (how long)? Or drying in over ? And if so, how?

If I can dry it what is best to store it in afterwards? Bowl/container or plastic zipper bag?

After it is dried how long is it good for? Like the “sell by” date! LOL!!

Thanks so much! I love this group!

          Hi!
Im still trying to figure out how to dry veg for treats without a dehydrator but if you successfully dry some out you should put them in a cardboard box or paper bag for storage so they can breathe
Have you heard of roundworm? Its a parasite that can be found anywhere raccoons are found, so… just wanted to warn you about where you pick your greens!

If you can dry it so it’s perfectly crunchy dry, you can store it in ziplock bags. But if you do that it really has to be perfectly dry. You can dry it spread out on newspaper in a room until it’s almost dry, then finish it in the oven at the lowest possible temperature.

Our member Gina.Jenny dried dandelion greens in a halogen oven last year. I think it only took like 6 minutes.

If stored dry and dark it keeps at least a year. I dry leaves this time of year and serve them during winter as healthy treats and snacks.
