I bought my rabbit a alfalfa hay tunnel and he really enjoys it. I’m just worried he will stop eating his hay. Should I take it out of his cage during the night? Or should I just take it out of his cage and only let him have it during playtime? I have seen him eat some hay but he’s mostly playing/eating his tunnel. I don’t want him to stop eating his hay.

If he’s very focused on the tunnel I would remove it from his cage. You can add it back in for an hour or two at a time during playtime so that he still gets to enjoy it, but isn’t over indulging

Ok thanks. I think I will only let him have it during playtime cause he’s always chewing on it. I just want him to eat his hay since it’s 80% of there diet!
