My rabbit is still young (7ish weeks old) and I’ve noticed he has eye boogies in the corners of his eyes. Sometimes there only in one but most of the time in both. There’s nothing wrong with his eye it’s just the eye boogies. Is this normal? Will he groom them out or will I have to help him remove them?

If he has bigger eyes, it’s pretty normal to have boogies. Wick does every day usually a bit.

Ok thanks. It’s good to know other rabbits get them to.

I recently went to a vet about this problem not even two days ago, the white escriment is how the eye flushes anything not supposed to be there. If it’s white and opaque then you are fine, when you should worry if it has a strong yellow color as that indicates pus or bacterial infection. They will normally clean it while grooming or you can show you love your bunny with a warm towel

My bun almost never grooms her own eye boogies, and she grooms her face a lot. I usually get those out for her, and I remember reading somewhere if you help a rabbit groom her eyes it means you two are bonded or bondING. The only advice I can give as long as they appear like eye boogies and not like actual discharge (in which case you should take him to the vet as he may have a cold or other infection), is to limit the amount of dust that he is exposed to. So… clean, clean, clean!

Yeah, my bun has those all the time! This might be weird, but I just gently pick them out for her and she always tooth purrs in appreciation…
