My bunny is 7 1/2 weeks old and he is eating alfalfa hay and pellets. I was wondering if I can give him any type of treat I have some pet store treats that’s have Apple and banana in them can I give him those? I do not feed him any fruit or vegetables so that’s why I’m questioning giving them to him since they have fruit in them. If I can’t give him those is there somthing I can give him. I’ve started bonding with him but I think it would go better with a treat I can give him.

At 7 and 1/2 weeks giving treats can be risky since their gut is more sensitive at such a young age. Especially since with training you need to have multiple rewards so the amount of treats fed would soon add up even if you only used a tiny amount. If you wanted to use the pet store treats, give a tiny tiny piece at a time, like smaller than a thumbnail size, and limit it to 2-3 a day.

I would use his pellets as treats for now though, instead of just putting them in his bowl in the morning, use them at treats to help him come close to you and help with bonding, after a few minutes of training you can put the rest of the pellets in his bowl for him to eat.

Thanks. I probably stick to his pellets cause I don’t want to take the risk
