I had by 8-month old mini-lop, Buddy, neutered 2 days ago. He experienced some problems after the neuter, he wouldn’t eat and had quite severe diarrhoea, so I have been having to give him 4 different lots of medicine, which he hates. He used to be so sweet and wasn’t happy unless he was getting a fuss, he wanted to be around me all the time. Now he is being so aggressive. As soon as I step into his room he thumps at me and runs angrily round my feet. He even attacked my jacket yesterday and was dangling off my sleeve by his teeth… I know behavioural problems are common the first few weeks after neutering but I am worried because I don’t know what to do for him. Do I give him space or try to win him over? And will he ever be my sweet little bun again?

He will be your sweet little bun again. If one of his meds is a painkiller (most often Metacam) it’s good, but if he isn’t getting a painkiller, his aggressiveness could be due to pain.

They hate being given meds, but you must still do it. He will forgive you. They do, it’s actually always a good thing when a bun fights his meds, because it means he has strength. But I’m sorry he’s having such a rough time with this.

If his diarrhea doesn’t stop and/or if he persists in refusing food you should contact your vet again.
