I am concerned my bunnies aren’t running around and playing as much as they should. ***They are not being lethargic or concerning**** I just want to know how I can engage them more. They have boxes to chew and jump on and paper to dig in, tunnel to run through, a mat to dig at, and wooden bird houses to chew on. They get so excited for pellets and and fruit, but I know not to over feed them those, plus that isn’t an activity really lol. They dont really have any interest in paper towel or toilet paper rolls.

What are your buns favorite activities? DIY ideas beside toilet paper rolls?

Wick’s a persistent, napping fur ball. Also only excited for food. So no suggestions, but it’s nice to know someone else has a non-active rabbit!

My buns like to play with balls, lol. They have tennis balls, wooden balls, balls made of sticks, ect. All sizes too. Some have space for treats to be stuffed into the middle of them. The stick treat balls get my bunnies more active than the others, but they like them all. One of my rabbits likes to roll over the top of the smaller ones, and my other two like to nudge around the bigger ones

My rabbit really likes her slinky and balls/throw toys that make noise. She also likes to dig at and re-arrange in old towels/clothes (make sure they don’t eat threads off of these though!). One thing that always gets her interested is when I move her toys/furniture around, she likes to explore new areas.

I wouldn’t worry about them not being active though if they seem happy and are eating well! My bunny is lazy and naps a lot of the day away also

As long as they have the space to run around if they decide too, I wouldn’t worry. My bunnies went absolutely mental a few days ago (Monday night actually) And they’ve had to spend the rest of the week recovering lol. Silly lops. Mine love digging at and rearranging blankets so I’ll straighten one out for them as a blank canvas so to speak and they’ll spend the next couple days getting it just right and then they’ll ignore it. So I flatten it out again. Buttercup loves charging through things – plastic stacking cups, plastic skittles etc so I set this up for her and let her do ‘Buttercup smash’ then Peanut will just move the cups around lol.

Tony just lives exploring, so I have a big pile of cushions he rummages around in. Occasionally I’ll leave the door to my bedroom/bathroom open (after a quick bunnyproofing ofc) and he gets all excited thinking he’s sneaking in. Moving the furniture/his toys around keeps him erntertained too. I don’t move his litter tray or feed bowls or anything because that irritates him, but swapping the couch and armchairs around keeps him very happy! He also loves his tunnel and random stuff like if I put sheets/towels out to dry that hang close enough to the ground to make a kind of Tony-tent.

Jake also loves to dig blankets even though he’s a very chill bunny, haha! He also loves to dig in boxes and brown packing paper. And to jump onto the furniture! I leave little super tiny slivers of dry carrot around so he can be encouraged to hop about.
