        Hello,

I have a rabbit  and my roommate has a rabbit, so when my roommate went away for a day and a holy she asked me to watch her bun, no probable, he was GREAT! then she went away again this time for 3 days and asked me to watch her bun, no problem I watched him on the first day he was great, however on the second day he began to withdraw, stop eating and during his play time out if the cage  he spent the entire time in a corner just sitting. Worried I tried to entice him to eat, eventually he took to some fresh hay that I put out, once my roommate came back he went back to himself all social and lively and eating normally. So I think that her bunny missed her, but when she leaves me with him again  to bunny sit, how can I make the fact that she’s not here easier for him. I loved him, fed him and he is familiar with me so he’s not scared of me I am not a new person to him, but he stilled missed his bunny mom when she was away.

        I would appreciate any tips

        Thank You

Firstly, is your roommate leaving going to be a common occurrence? As a rabbit owner, it’s not advised to leave your rabbit multiple times for long periods of time. Now I work full-time with Wick at home, so I’m not saying 24/7 attention, but if there are many instances where your roommate will go away and need someone to look after her rabbit, she may want to consider non-stressful ways she can take him with her.

If the rabbit loves her that much and really misses her when she’s gone, yet he has you and another rabbit to socialize with (I’m assuming your rabbits are bonded? Not sure.), I think it may just be a personal thing her rabbit will need to work through. Continue to give love and comfort. Perhaps your roommate can leave behind something with her scent balled up in his sleeping area so he has something to snuggle with? Not sure.
