I just found a chinchilla site that sells dried flowers and im planning on buying some and making my own mix. I was wondering if the mix im planning on making is safe

        Rose petals
        Rose buds
        Rose hips
        Calendula
        Jasmine
        Lavender
        Red clover blossoms
        Chamomile
        Hibiscus
        Bee pollen
        Dandelion root

The site im ordering from is rondaschins and ive heard lots of great things about her(?) website, she also sells wood by the pound and everything is quite affordable.
        Thank you!

Ok thanks! Im pretty sure hibiscus is safe and i will have to research bee pollen more because there is limited information about it. But it has lots of vitamins, so hopefully i can feed it. Oh bee pollen literally is pollen from bees, if you were wondering if it was a flower

I know for sure dandelion/dandelion root is okay tho I was advised it can cause loose poops I think. Rose petals and chamomile are definitely safe. Sunflower petals are safe too if you wanna add those

I can say chamomile is good for sure!
                I knew hibiscus and jasmine weren’t safe? I think I’ve read it somewhere… but I can’t be sure D:

I have this feeling about hibiscus and jasmine too =/ But I can’t say. The ASPCA says jasmine isn’t toxic to horses, cats or dogs, and horses have many likenessess to rabbits regarding what food suits them. The rest I’ve fed my buns myself, with the exception of bee pollen. They were not extatic about rose hips and marigolds though, but all buns have their particular favorites and non-favorites among the bunny safe plants and flowers.

It sounds like a lovely idea though =)

I looked into hibiscus and im getting 60% saying its safe and 40% unsafe, ive fed hibiscus before without any ill effects but i will take it out of my cart

I’m definitely sure that dandelion roots can be fed to your little bun bun I feed them to my bunny all the time and he just absolutely loves the, but only as a treat! Otherwise they are very high in vitamins too like higher in potassium than bananas. So they are really great and I strongly advise them!

Ok so i decided to cut out jasmine and hibiscus completely
Also ive come to the conclusion that bee pollen is safe from some research saying that wild rabbits rat lots of bee pollen while eating flowers, which makes a lot of sense and there will probably be some bee pollen in the whole flowers i will be buying
To relieve any worries i will only be feeding a tsp of this mix 2-3times a week, so any laxative effects from the dandelion should not be present
Thanks a lot guys my bunbun will definitely enjoy his safe flower salad!

If its any help, Jasmine is definitely ON the list pinned in my kitchen for safe for bunnies printed from the House Rabbit Society website.
