Hi! Welcome!!! I had this problem when I first got my bunny, what I did was 1. Be patient, 2. Get someone to help you. 3. Get some cutters and snip away just be careful and offer him treats when he stays calm.

Is Larry a good hay eater? Poopy butt can be caused by a diet too rich in pellets, and too low in hay. If you think you are giving him too many pellets, you can cut back a little and hopefully he will eat more hay. Also try different hay varieties and brands if he isn’t a good hay eater.

Here are the instructions for a bunny butt bath, both wet and dry. I have had to do one a few times on an elderly rabbit. I would use a plastic dish pan on the floor, with an inch or two of water, instead of putting them up in the sink. For soap, I would use a small piece of hypoallergenic bar soap, such as Clearly Natural or Kirk’s Castille (unscented). It can be helpful to have someone help you. One to hold the rabbit in place in the dish pan and the other to splash water on his bottom and work the poop out of his fur.
