Hey guys I need some advice bandit is doing fine and well however I’m having thoughts that his cage for nite time isn’t as ‘fun or homey as it could be?

Basically he has a 2x4cage and it’s 36 inches high I have 2 levels and a small ramp to get to the other level. However other than when he’s angry or annoyed he completely avoids the space under his 2nd level. Is it because it’s too low or maybe too crowded? I’m not sure what to do as I want to make his cage more comfortable as he sleeps, chills, and waits entirely on the second level. Am I being overbearing or too worried?

Things I’ve considered are adding a third level to give him another space bit not sure to make like a shelf or another 2x2ft level like the second level. I can’t post pictures cause the forums don’t like me but my most recent pics outline my cage and I’m open to suggestions.

as strange as it is, I know that my pair when locked in their condo, always prefer to be on the upper level. Their litter tray is downstairs and they’ll go down to use that and eat hay, but while locked up if they’re not in their tray, they’re upstairs lounging. If I have the condo door open, they’ll lounge downstairs or sometimes go in the hidey box. I can’t really explain it, since for the first three weeks they only used the bottom level, now they don’t use it much at all. I don’t think it’s uncomfortable or scary, they just prefer to be up higher on the second level.

Hm ok but would a third be good or just a hastle?

That really depends, if it gets in the way of access and cleaning, it could be a hassle, especially if he never actually uses it. But it could be good for him as well as long as he still has somewhere in the cage that he can stand up to his full height with his ears up.
