I’ve gotten my Holland lop for over a week now and whenever I try petting her when she is laying down, I only get to pet her a few times on her head before she pops her head up and it hits my hand. It feels as though she’s telling me to stop petting her. Am I misinterpreting this or does she just doesn’t like me petting her? I really don’t know what to do.

I’m not sure what it means when they lift their little head up (both of mine do this sometimes) but usually if they really don’t want to be touched they’ll just hop away or turn their back to me lol.

I agree, Luna will also hop away if she doesn’t want to be touched. It sounds like your bun is either looking for treats in your hand or asking you to continue grooming her.

When my bunny wants to be petted he will lay down and look at me and put his head to the ground. Sometimes if I see him lingering near me I’ll suprise dorm pet him and it ends up into a “OH SHI. . .Nevermind keep doing that…*flop*” moment.

Sum buns are not petters or even less of cuddlers you jave to gauge your bun as an individual not as everyone else.

If she’s pushing the top of her head against your hand, she probably wants to be pet more, if she’s pushing you away with the side of her head or mouth, she probably wants you to stop petting.
