Hi everyone, I hope this isn’t a ridiculous question. We are using Yesterday’s News litter and have been happy with how it absorbs / there is noticeable smell. We have three litter boxes as we train Woodstock. He’s doing much better and hasn’t had any pee accidents in several days! My question is if there is any way to keep the litter in the box. We have a layer of litter on the bottom of each box just to coat the bottom. Once he jumps in, or jumps out, the litter spreads off exposing the bottom of the box. Once he jumps out, he kicks the litter with his back legs and sends poops flying! Again exposing the bottom of the box. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? I feel like there ends up being more litter and poos on the floor than in the box. Thank you for the advice!

This may sound a little odd but I find if I put a thicker layer of litter (I use carefresh) then there’s less kick-out. I think it’s because they get more traction/less slip and so they kick up a bit less when they jump out because they don’t slip as much. If that makes sense lol.

That does make sense! I have a big bag of Care Fresh too but we switched to pellets since we thought he was snuggling a bit too much in the Care Fresh. Maybe I’ll use both!
