Initially, I am happy about this change, but I wanted to make sure I’m not misreading a potential symptom. Wick’s background are the bullet-ed paragraphs. The question is at the end.

        • Wick has always been the most attention loving rabbit… ever. He doesn’t like to run or play; he just likes to sit, be pet, and snuggle up and sleep in the nearest body part nook. This is great, and I love it, but in turn for being so friendly, he also never bites (literally never) or chews (nothing. ever. at all), so I’m always slightly concerned he’s experiencing something he actually doesn’t like or if he’s just “putting up with it” because he likes having attention. He was a runt, so I suspect he was not paid attention to, so having people dote over him is very re-assuring and provides a lot of security.

        • Timeline wise: 2 weeks ago, Wick went through a weird stage of peeing and pooping everywhere. He also was not lounging and flopping as much as he used. I originally thought it was hormones (he’s 5mo), but after telling my vet about the addition of higher water intake, the verdict was irritation from molars. Last week, Wick had the operation and when he returned home, he became, what I call, a “fur puddle”— which is when you put your hand on him to pet, he automatically defaults to the absolutely flattest position possible to receive it (like two stages of comfort further than the bunny loaf, if that makes sense, haha). The day after the operation, Wick was back to usual bunny loaf/not flopping when pet. I started getting paranoid that whatever was bothering him wasn’t mended with the teeth, so I kept a watchful eye. Everything poop, pee, and eating wise is back to normal. His appetite did not change from the molar irritation, but he had a phase of 2 days with very small poops and as I said before, the high water intake.

        • As some of you know, Wick has been on medication since 9wo. He’s on Baytril (0.7cc, x2/day) and injected penicillin (0.2cc, x1 every 3 days). No changes in his medication regimen or missed dosages. Sneezing wise, he’s never been better.

—— Sorry for the long back story, but now to the root my concern: Starting 3 days ago, Wick has been a fur puddle more than I have ever seen him before. It’s astounding. It doesn’t matter whether he’s in the kitchen or in his pen, when you pet him, his spine and body just becomes a relaxed, fur puddle on the ground… in what I believe is comfort & relaxation.

Are there are maladies which would be associated with an overly relaxed rabbit? Should I be concerned at all? It could be relief that his teeth are better or he finally realizes his sneezing isn’t really gonna be too problematic anymore… I’m not sure. He does chatter his teeth happily when relaxing, but I want to make sure he’s just not under the influence of any weird medical conditions brewing in him…. It has been slightly warmer lately, so I thought it may be heat related, but I put some frozen ice packs and offer ice cubes in hand and in water and he seems to not care about getting in contact with colder temperatures.

Not that I know of. Guin sometimes gets mood/behavioral changes, and I just chalk it up to her having a crazy bunny personality. She varies between fur puddle, and shy.

Luna’s personality varies from “love and snuggle me” to “i’m relaxing don’t touch me” to “i’m gonna run around and act crazy.” I miss the last one she hasn’t done that since her spay. Since you know your bun best and how he acts, I would say just keep an eye on whether Wick is being chill/relaxing vs being lethargic and not feeling well.
