So, two night ago, my 5yr-old bun Albus started sneezing. It went on for a while. I touched his nose and face to check for runny nose or eyes but nothing. I ended up laying a sheet on the floor in their pen (I have carpeted floors) and that helped tremendously. He still sneezed but not nearly as much.

I put the sheet on the floor again last night.Last night, he started sneezing again. Not as frequently as when he first started two nights ago–it’s gone down to maybe once an hour?

I’m not too concerned as he is still eating, but could it be possible that he’s allergic to something? I changed their hay about a month ago that is a bit dustier than my usual one. I just finished going through a bout of GI stasis with him, so I’m closely monitoring their health issues right now.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Since you are already monitoring his health, you can try to remove as much allergens/hay dust as you can. I would try to get any hay dust off by shaking the hay a little bit before you put it in his cage/feeder, and also remove any hay dust out of the feeder every day. Maybe even change back to the hay he was fed previously?

I have only a little bit of this hay left, but yeah, I am going to go back to my other one.

Do you have any ideas on what other allergens could be causing this? I vacuum regularly, their pen is clean; the windows are open so there’s definitely airflow. I’m just not sure what else it could be besides the hay dust.

There could be some bits stuck up in his nose. I’ve heard this is possible with slightly larger pieces of dust?

Clean with fresh water and a clean cloth when necessary!

Also reassess any new pieces of furniture or new cleaners you may have employed near the area.

Is it spring in your area? We have a lot of pollen floating through the air here, and it makes me sneeze.

If it is allergens that is making your bunny sneeze, an electronic air cleaner might help. I have heard that the ionizer type should not be used around rabbits, but the plain kind would be fine. It would be another cord to protect, though.
