We adopted Bun Bun from a friend on Sunday. She knew when they were born (Christmas Day) but wasn’t sure of the breed. We are thinking possible French Lop but we are not 100% sure. She is super sweet but we all are still learning each other. So any suggestions on the breed?

        Thanks!

          Hi Sabrina

Do you have an idea of how much Bun Bun weighs? That might provide a clue to her breed.

I’ve checked that you attached a photo file. I think there may be a problem with the file name. If you save it again with a short, simple name (best with no symbols) then upload again, you should see the “insert image” icon next to the file name. Once you click on that, the photo will appear in your post. Hope that helps!

Those ears are kinda big I think French lop would be appropriate. Leadership like bam is really good at breeds

I don’t know her current weight. Maybe tonight I can try to weigh her. She isn’t heavy, lots of fur. I will try to resize and name the picture tonight, easier on my laptop than phone. Thanks!!

Better picture. I didn’t get her weight last night, she didn’t want to cooperate.

That’s a very cute bun. I’m curious to know what his breed is as well.

Judging by that bit of mane and fluffy pants, I suspect there may be a bit of lionhead in there somewhere too. Mostly big-eared lop though, lol. Very cute

Thanks. She is a cutie and I am quite smitten. She is getting used to us slowly.

Ok, I got a semi weight, it is only a pound, which sounds too little. But she wasn’t the most cooperative on getting on the scale. She eats hay, has plenty, and eats pellets once a day (1/4 cup) and a salad twice a day. Should I up her food? Or try for a better weight?

Our experience with three house rabbits.  We’ve give them all they want to eat.  This includes all the hay they want to eat in their litter boxes, green vegetable leaves, treats..apples, almonds, and full bowls of pellets at all times of the day.  They are a little overweight, but not obese.  Being girls, they have big dewlaps..fat deposits over their throats.  When we offer them food, they often don’t want to eat because they are full.  My limited experience is that if you give them too much food, they just won’t eat anything more than they need.

Looking back at your original posting of the photo of your rabbit…your rabbit is suffering from a severe case of over-cuteness!!!!
