I just got a 7 week holland lop a few days ago. I’ve been trying to bond with her, but she rarely comes up to me. When she does come up to me, she would bite my clothing and since my clothing is thin, she ends up biting me and it hurts. I’ve tried saying owww, but I don’t know if it’s helping. I’m a little scared whenever she comes to me now.

It takes awhile for rabbits to be comfy just give him time and space if he nips he’s probably tasting but if he bites hard make a eek noise to curb the habbit. He’s probably nipping to taste your clothes and that’s fine

You’ve only had her a few days. I don’t understand why so many people worry when they haven’t bonded with their bunny when they’ve had them for such little time. Like, give the rabbit a chance to settle in?

Is she actually biting or nipping? There’s a difference. If she’s biting hard enough to break skin, then that is a ‘true’ bite and it could be out of fear as she’s not comfortable in her environment yet. If she’s not breaking skin, it’s a nip which is how bunnies communicate.

She is very young and in a very new environment. She is cautious and probably a little scared. She will learn not to be afraid of you in time, at the moment she is testing out what/who you are by nibbling at you and your clothes. Young rabbits seem to do this more than adults as they are still learning about things, they tend to nip or teeth them as a way of finding out what’s what. Don’t let it scare you, continue to sit down at her level and let her come to you. When she does come to you, you can try offering pellets or strands of hay to her so that she knows you’re not so scary
