        Hey guys,

So Louis has somehow cut his head above his left eye – hard to see in photo, thought it was just clumped hair, but on inspection it is a small cut. Don’t know how he has done it, booked in with vets for tomorrow evening, but really worried he isn’t okay.

Seems alright in himself, but so worried (I am an awful worrier!) he is eating well, going to the toilet fine, happy and binkying as normal and coming to see me for strokes and cuddles. But is there anything I need to do or keep an eye on other than the obvious?!

Any help would be great, I’ll be devastated if anything happens to him, and I always think the worse

How are his nails? Is there anything in his area that he couldve got a bit of fur pulled from, or something that couldve cut him? Its very small to the point I cant see it in pictures, so it should be fine. Specially since he is also acting fine

Since he is acting ok I think all you can do is wait and see what his vet says. It’s hard to see in the pic, but I don’t think there is any dried blood?

              Thank you both.

No dried blood, literally tiny cut, just it’s the first pet I’ve ever had, and like I said I am a worrier, he is much more resilient thank I give him credit for!

He is acting fine, I think it may be his chew toy, sounds odd but it can get quite sharp and pointy once he has chewed ends of it, so have removed for tonight and booked in with vets tomorrow afternoon. He is trying to clean it, but I just put him to bed and he was fine (still a monkey hiding when I put my ‘bedtime’ hoody on to take him out to bed!), but he let me properly pull the fur back and get a good look at it, it really is tiny, he is just so little and fluffy I think he is making it ‘flap’ open when he cleans it so makes it look worse.

Hahah, I think its only normal to worry about our fragile furbabies If he messes with it too much or it starts to bleed, you can add a tiny bit of plain neosporin (plain, not the one with pain killer) to the cut once or twice a day. It will help protect it so that he cant accidentally get it infected

So went to the vets… quite embarrassed, she said he probably did it about 2 weeks ago and it was now just a scab…! He was healing well so she said it was probably itching him and he scratched off his fur a little bit…oh dear!!

Thats a good thing that its healing on its own very well Since it is likely that his nails caused, it might be worth trying to trim his nails more often, and possibly filing down the nails for a second or two after the trim to ensure they are not too sharp
