I have 2 bunnies that I bought a week ago and when I bought them, I also bought pellets that pet store got, that comes without any labels and was sold per pound. After reading about bunny health. I decided to buy Oxbow Essentials Bunny Basic as my bunnies are 3 month old. But when I introduced new pellets, one of my bun refused to eat pellets, so he eats more hay, but the other eats pellets like crazy and doesnt eat hay. I came back to that pet store, but now they already selling other pellets inside same bin, that have another smell. So I didn’t buy them. And now I dont know how to get my other bunny to eat his new pellets. I already tried adding pellets to his fav veggies, but he picks only veggies and leave pellets, maybe eating 1-2 pellets.

Hi, i had the same problem with my 2 bunnies. It helps to find out what the people you bought them from were feeding the bunnies & continue that- assuming it was a healthy diet. My bunnies were eating Kaytee brand for juvenile bunnies when I bought them. I tried to switch them to Oxbow & they hated it. I even tried mixing the two brands together to gently wean them from Kaytee to Oxbow. Still didn’t work. I couldn’t bear to see them so unhappy so I put them back on what they were used to- Kaytee. I called the people i bought them from to be sure & they confirmed this is what they were used to. My buns are 4 mos. Hope this helps!

You can order most pellets online if you don’t mind paying for shipping. Sherwood is another good brand besides oxbow if you are in the united states, and they sell small sample bags to try. Are they eating any greens yet? A vet can recommend a good complete diet for your buns based on their age. I really don’t know about under 6 months, but over 6 months many vets prefer a variety of different types of greens and lots of hay over pellets.

Have you tried mixing other rabbit food with it. Sometimes that happens when I start running out of the food they like to eat the most, so I mix it with other food and they eat it just fine. Also, try maby changing the bag, there could be something wrong with the pellets.
