I’ve moved his litter box 3 times, tried to put the poop/pee covered chips in the box, put hay in it, put hay by it, put his food by it and nothing’s working! He poops in his cage but he just won’t poop in the box. He uses it to nest in even though he has a cardboard box. So I was just wondering would it harm him to not have the litter box in there? He usually only goes in one spot but if I put the box there, he’ll start going all over for a few days and then choose a different spot. I don’t know what to do, I thoroughly clean his cage once a week and then pick up droppings through out the week, plus he gets let out daily so he’s never really dirty. But I just didn’t know if there was any way I could kinda force him or if it would be okay to just let him do his thing and if he starts going in one spot then try with a different box in a week or 2? I just want him to be healthy and happy. Oh, he’s about 9 months old and he’s a mini lop, I don’t know if that helps at all. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

I would either keep trying or just get rid of the box altogether. Just in the cage is better than everywhere outside of the cage!:p

Is he neutered? 9 months is prime hormone time.

He’s not neutered yet unfortunately but he will be soon. I just upped my hours at work so I can have the money to neuter him next payday.
