Hi all!! I have had my rabbits side by side living for the last 3 weeks, today we started them meeting in a netural place it was fine to start off a few minutes in yesterday, now today it was fine until the male started nipping her on the nose, she sits down when he comes over and they touch noses do this a few times then nipped her on the nose, i took them apart straight away should i stop bonding or carry on, everything else has been fine in body language, i can tell already hes going to be the dominant one, advice on next step please thank you all ??

A nip is fine as its not a bite. He letting her know that he is the boss and he doesnt like what shes doing/wants her to groom him. Continue bonding is safe

It’s an open question forum, anytime you post a member who’s knowledgeable will answer.

Bonding is a sometimes long process and even more rare is a quick bond but with some dedication you can make your bunnies happy

Feel free to ask any questions. As Bandit said, its an open forum, so if I cant answer it, someone else here will be able to

Glad that bonding is going well for you! An hour long session is often a big ‘first step’ for a lot of bonding buns!

To help encourage both bunnies to groom, you can use a bit of nonsweetened apple juice or a bit of banana and rub it into the fur on their heads. Apple juice and bananas taste good to bunnies, so its also a good treat for treating one another well

All I can suggest is looking up videos on 101rabbits, or stormyrabbits on YouTube. You can also click the bunny information at the top of the page for more information on bonding

If they’re still in neutral space I would move the pen into one or the others’ territory if that applies. The folks here said that once they are in the pen together for the better part of a day it’s safe to say they’re bonded. I then moved the pen to my bedroom right next to my bed for the first few nights just to make sure!

You shouldn’t move the buns into one of their existing territories. You need to go to semi neutral, so a place where both buns have been but not a place that actually ‘belongs’ to one of them. Once they’re okay there,  you can move them into their permanent living quarters.
