So, I got a 6 week old bunny about little longer than a month ago & she lives outside in a big cage. Recently she will not let me pick her up. She goes into a bigger run during the day & she doesn’t like being picked up but she accepts she’s not going to be held for long & it’s only to put her in the run. That’s the only time I pick her up because I know she doesn’t like it. At first she let me stroke her, and she knows that when I come to her cage it’s not always to pick her up but to stroke. However now she just runs away to the back of the cage where i can’t stroke her at all. I’ve tried when I stroke her or pick her up to give her, her favourite treat afterwards but she doesn’t always eat it, she’ll smell it in my hand then walk away from me. I’ve also tried sitting with her in her outside run but I’m not sure if it’s working?I just don’t know what to do to ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.

She sounds like a normal young bunny to me. As they age, they will often (very suddenly) decide that being picked up, held, and even petting is not something they want to be involved in. It isn’t anything to be concerned about. I would just try to remain patient. Most adult bunnies don’t like the be held, but many do like to be pet. So he might outgrow this… but getting him neutered will really help. You’ll have to wait until he’d old enough though.
