Recently, I have been training my bunny, Chewie, how to use a litter box. Most of the time he goes in the box, but sometimes has an accident. However, when he is free-ranging in the house he always goes back to his cage to use the bathroom. Any tips with litter box training inside his cage? Thanks!

I litter box trained my bunny pongo at 3 months make sure it’s a big enough litter box for them don’t even bother with those small corner litter boxes get a small cat litter box dont put bedding in the rest of his cage or he’ll confuse it with his litter box cause bunnies generally really enjoy there litter box cause it’s the comfiest part of there cage put hay in the litter box bunnies like to snack on hay while they poop and get a water bottle and put it above his litter box so while he drinks his water he pees in his litter box. Also if he pees outside his litter box soak it up with a paper towel and put it in his litter box so he knows his scent is there and that where he’s suppose to go same thing with his droppings if he poops anywhere else but his litter box pick up his droppings and put them in his litter box. Sometimes bunnies tend to favor different corners more than others so if you notice that your bun is going in one corner more than the one your litter box is in move it to that corner and experiment with litters sometimes some bunnies like some litters more than others! Good luck!

Thanks for the help! Yes, I just switched from pine shavings as bedding to a fabric floor instead, and it seems to be getting better.
