I know yet another litter question!

To those of you that use the horse stall pellets in your litter box do you use them straight from the bag or do you water them first? As shown in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIwPDje5cpI

I shred newspapers in my paper shredder and it works fine. Free! Much cheaper than Aspen bark!

I use horse stall pellets and I love them I use them as they come in their pelleted form. However, I do also use them in the catch tray of my parrot’s cage, and for that I do water them and allow them to turn into the “dust”. Works wonders for saving how much I use for that, however in the rabbit litter tray, it wouldn’t work because I think it would just stick to their fur and get carried around everywhere, plus you’d probably have less moisture absorption. For my parrot it’s more about acting as a barrier to the bottom of the catch tray and odour control as opposed to absorption.

Straight from the bag. Like Az i have a double tier tray so the pee filters down so they don’t sit directly on the pellets.
They tend to only pee in one corner so the rest can be reused…

I’ve just bought a (big!) bag of “megazorb”, which looks pretty much like dry, swollen (clean) pellets, but takes up more room for stockage.

Similar absorption before smelling of bun-pee and similar odour from the packet.
