What do you guys give your rabbits every single day in terms of greens, vegetables, and fruits? I know you should give them one cup of veggies per five pounds of body weight, but I’m concerned about what exactly I’m giving him. What are some good staple foods that I can give as a base?

Curious about this as well. I’m guessing Lettuce leaves (romaine, red) + parsley/cilantro + a couple slices of green pepper?

It really depends on the rabbit
The amount and type of veggies can differ lots
            It’s recommended 2 cups for 6 pounds
            1/3 high oxalate veggies
            2/3 low oxalate veggies
And 15% can be non leafy veggies
How much of each veggie you feed can also depend on how much calcium there is in each veggie
A bun can have 1 oz of fruit a day per 6 pounds

My bunny has some cecal issues so he gets
2 leaves of romaine with no stems with a combo of any two-three below
            1 stalk of cilantro
            1 stalk of parsley
            1 small piece of dill
            1 mint leaf
1/2 leaf of gai choy or bok choy no stem
1 small piece of green leaf
            1 small kale leaf
            2 baby spinach leaves

He gets no non leafy veggies because he likes leaves better and because we don’t buy them besides zucchini very occasionally

In the end he gets 1 cup and he is 5 pounds
He also gets a very thin slice of strawberry or carrot on top

Staple veggies are almost all lettuces except iceburg
            Romaine
            Green leaf
            Red lettuce
            Butter lettuce
Kale (be careful, some buns cannot tolerate this every day)
And some more I can’t remember
            But hopefully this helps

It depends on the day and the week, but this week Jake has had:

              -romaine lettuce
              -kale greens
-raddicio lettuce (the little purple ball like one haha!)
              -red leaf lettuce
              -strawberry leaves
-a few tiny pieces of dried papaya as treats

My Acorn’s favourites are dill, sage, cilantro, parsley, kale (green and purple) mustard greens, bok choy, and watercress.

I buy 4 different varieties per week (+1 new thing to try) and make morning and afternoon ziplock bags that I store in the crisper. That way I only have to wash, chop and prep once a week ?

It’s 1 cup of greens per 2lbs of body weight, not 5

I vary the combo of veggies I give each week but a few things stay the same. They always have coriander, dill and thyme. Those are favourites. This week they have romaine lettuce, rocket, coriander, chicory, spring greens, mint, dill and thyme. Other things they have  regularly include Chinese leaf lettuce, curly kale, flat leaf parsley, pak choi, watercress and rosemary. I need to try them on spinach and sage still. Might do one of those next week!

I don’t give fruits. Their bed time treat is usually an extra piece of dill or thyme.

I’m in the process of reintroducing greens, so our list is currently quite limited. By my pair currently get each.

Good handful of fresh grass (some orchard and some broad leaf lawn type)
                    2 dandelion leaves
                    1 plantain leaf
                    dandelion flower (if available)
small piece of silverbeet (about 1-2 inch square)
small piece of romaine lettuce (about 1-2 inch square)

This week I’m actually working on building up the quantity of romaine so hoping to have them at a full leaf each in a week or so.

I give them a few constants. I like the spring mix from Walmart. It’s a god sized tub with 4 varieties. They get a handfull each, a quarter bell pepper each, a 1/4 quarter celery stick each. Then I add a few different things each week, like a radish per bun, 1/4 cucumber, 1/4 bunch parsely, 1/4 bunch cilantro, sometimes turnip leaves, 6″ piece rosemary, basil, thyme each, handful mint, large handful dandelion, large handful chickweed, maybe once or twice a month 1/4 kale/collard leaf. I stopped giving them the diferent cabbages because they make Lancelot’s belly gurgle. Oh in summer I grow borage and raspberry leaves for them. Lancelot loves tomatoes. It’s spring – so I’m ging to start my veggie garden, and pick a few different things to grow for them. Butter letuce is their favorite of the lettuce varieties.

The majority of my bun’s salad is Romaine lettuce. Then most days I give 2 of the following dandelion, collards, carrot tops, cilantro or bok choy. I like to switch up the veggies but it usually depends on what I can find at the grocery store. I usually give a different veg for breakfast and supper.

The base green for Nibbles’ salad is lettuce, (red or green leaf, romaine is not her favorite) with two from a rotation of greens that include kale (any type), parsley, cilantro, fennel, dandelion greens, napa, or bok choi. In the summer I also give her fresh grass and carrot tops.

I usually just give my bun some veggies from whatever we are cooking at home that day. We are vegans so there is always a lot of greens at home Some leafy greens, carrot tops, a piece of zucchini and so on. But then my little bun eats whatever you put in front of him like a piranha. He is under 2 pounds (little netherland dwarf) so he shouldn’t have too much so its more a matter of limiting him from eating too much.
