So I’ve seen very conflicting information on bonding babies to adults..
Believe it or not there’s not really many options at the shelters near me right now, aand there’s this SWEET little male bunny I can adopt from a really good breeder. Would I be able to bond them while he’s still uneutred (I know I know) and when he starts showing sexual maturity, separate him and get him fixed? And then (hopefully not have to) re-bond them? If he happens to hump her a couple times, would they still have a good chance bonding again in the future once he’s neutered? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Also, I’d plan to keep Cupcake in her current X pen, keep him in my new rabbit room, introduce them in the bathroom, and if they consistently do well move Cupcake into the rabbit room with him… thoughts?

Nope. Altered buns can smell hormones on unaltered buns and in turn will act hormonally as if theyve never been fixed in the first place. You will need to wait until the newest is fixed and healed

Baby bonds are not considered true bonds. Almost any baby will get along with a spayed or neutered adult, but once they hit puberty and develop their adult personality there will almost always be bonding issues and they will need to be rebonded. Having said that, I do know of one instance where a young female was kept with a neutered male and she was spayed and continued to be with the male without any issues. However I would consider this the exception and is certainly not reliable. You are more likely to end up with issues than not.

You are better off keeping them separated, having your boy neutered, waiting 4-6 weeks before attempting to bond them. You can of course do pre-bonding work until then.
