He needs to see a vet. Dental disease should be suspected if there’s wet fur on one cheek and subsequent hairloss. Dental disease is common in house rabbits.

The wetness will compromize the skin and pave the way for nasties such as fungi and pathologic bacteria. How long has this been going on for? How old is the rabbit? Is he eating and drinking? Please tell us more, but first of all, please book a vet appoinment for him. Is the wetness coming from his eye?

I agree, this looks very concerning and I would suspect tooth issues as well. Vet visit definitely needed.

Hi thanks for the replies guys. I will take him to the vet on monday (today is friday here) as Im busy at uni.

He is 2 years old. He has had a lot of fur loss now that I think about it. Ive had to brush him daily it has gotten that bad.
May I ask what causes dental problems? I noticed a lot of eye dust on his eyes so maybe they have been watering too.

How is this problem solved by the vet? If it is dental problems (likely). I will have to dig into my savings, hope it wont be too costly.

Dont worry guys. I took him to the vet today cause i couldnt stand seeing him look so sick. Turns out its a abscess in his teeth/jaw. It requires a complicated surgery which costs around $700-$900NZD which I do not have as Im a student. I am beyond upset. I cant believe this. Its a gamble too because the surgerys success rate is only around 50% too. I guess I have to put my sweety down.

Thanks for your help though guys.

I am so very sorry. Thanks anyway for the update. Jaw abscesses are often really complicated.
