        Hello!

I’m unsure about bonding my buns Muffin and Munchie, who are both girls, in the future. They are both 4 months old, but haven’t started fighting or any unusual behaviour. They came from the same breeder, unsure about the litter, but I got them at the same time and were taken home in a small cardboard carrier, which may have helped a bit?! They are always grooming eachother and snuggling up with eachother, but sometimes steal veggies from eachother   They will be getting spayed in a few months, so perhaps I should start after that?

        Thanku Xx

I know the proper thing to do is wait until after they’re fixed, but if they already snuggle and groom each other, I’d say they’re already good to be with each other. Not always, but typically the fights break out when it’s two bunnies who haven’t never been together before.

Fights can break out due to the influx of hormones that come with puberty. Your bunnies may be fine together now, but at any time they could start scuffling or downright fighting. It’s not a certainty, but it’s definitely a possibility. If you see signs of aggression or any fighting with them, they should be separated until their surgeries, then they can be rebonded a month or so after their spays. Besides not wanting either of them to be injured, you don’t want them to start fighting because rabbits can hold a grudge and make future bonding impossible. It may be that they will be okay together until their surgeries. Just keep a close watch, and separate if needed.
