Recently, I noticed that when my bun sits in the loaf position she has one of her front paws tucked inward so the toes are pointing towards the body (?).

After doing some research I thought it was a sprain and kept her in a confined space. However, she’s eating, pooping and acting normally. She’s not limping or showing any signs of discomfort. No nails are broken, no toes are loose, the bones are symmetrical in both legs. The only thing is that she tucks in her right front paw inward in the loaf position.

        Is this position normal?

I’m a worry wart so I can’t help but be paranoid over everything. Google will be the death of me lol.

The following photo is a photo I found online of the front paw tucked inward.
It’s hard to catch the paw tucked inward cause it’s only noticeable when she gets up from her loaf position.

I don’t believe that this is a loaf position? But it seems that she is healthy and this maybe be comfortable for her or how her paw lays when she lays down

Yea not loaf. The pic isn’t of my bun.

Thanks for the reply tho. That’s what my sister also said. She could’ve been sitting like this from the beginning , but I never noticed till now.

It’s not unusual for rabbits to fold their front paws under them like that when they go into a loaf position.

I’m with you on the worry wart front! Especially as I’m a new bunny owner. I had read on multiple sites that when bunnies rest, their heads shouldn’t touch the ground, but my bunny Acorn is always like that and it completely freaked me out! I now think he’s just super relaxed (or maybe just lazy!). Either way, if your bunny is hopping and racing around like normal, I wouldn’t worry too much. Easier said than done, I know!

It’s just that I always assumed when sitting in a loaf position the paws are still faced downwards (soles of the feet touching the floor).

Wick sits in loaf with paws inward and outward, it just depends on the instance; it’s normal!

Can’t help but imagine a super sassy bunny folding her paws in!
