Boston has been a nibbler at us since we got him – nibbles hands , fingers , clothes , feet

He doesn’t eat his blankets or anything

        No sign of teeth issues

I thought it was related to his eye sight as he has ruby cast and he scans a lot
Seems to have issues seeing his water in bowl so he feels for it with paws , whiskers and nose etc

Anyway his nibbles ( bites ) hurt! When he cuddles me he is in a blanket as I have low immunity and he being treated for EC at the moment – so no way to nibble me and he loves his cuddles ( so it’s not a stress thing )
But on my other half he nibbles her – he is like taste testing – a nibble here a nibble there kind of thing on her top – but some get the skin and hurt – plus we don’t want holes in clothes from it

Any ideas ? What the issue could be or what to do about it ?

Can’t say I’ve had this issue – but I hear that one way to teach a bunny not to do something like that, is to squeak and pull away when he bites, so he learns that it hurts. Interested to read what the others say…

poppy and cedric used to do this it was like a test to see what is and isn’t ok to chew. it could be the eyesight too him thinking you are feeding him and trying to eat. otherwise I have no idea. sorry. poor Boston

The only thing I can think is when he has cuddles to have him in a blanket ( which he loves anyway ) but wife is worried that we aren’t really solving the issue doing that and we should teach him not to bite so he doesn’t need to be in blanket … but I don’t know how to do that

like vanessa said if you go eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkk every time he bites that should work also if you are afraid wear a long sleeved shirt or sweat shirt to keep Boston from hitting skin( still squeal if he bites you)

It’s normal for baby animals to chew. I’d do the eeek and put back on the floor and wear protective clothing until he’s gotten the message. A cheap fleece blanket between you and the bun f ex.

From all my baby buns I’ve had I never had this issue ( maybe the odd nip on clothing but not all the time like Boston )
I do the blanket thing and we do make a sound not eek though but similar
Will persist and see what happens was hoping others have been through it and may have a “oh this works” moment
Will keep going – he loves cuddles so don’t want it to mean limiting it to pats etc when he loves hugs so much
