Hello new friends! I just brought my baby boy Dutch Tortie, Bluey D. Bunny, home yesterday – we have decided to put his overnight cage in my son’s room, upstairs – we plan to free-range him downstairs, so it seems like I’ll need to keep a potty/feeding/shelter set up downstairs too – yes? What would this look like?

*We have already bunny-proofed our living room, where we want him to roam freely, and covered/removed wires etc.

        TIA!

Hi! Yes, I would put a little setup downstairs as well. When you ask ‘what would this look like’ are you wondering how you should arrange everything?

Hiya GG. Nice to meet you. Eeerm a freeroam bunny, to be caged at night might not be such a good idea in a bedroom, unless you dont want your son to get any sleep at night. Im just saying. You could try, but my experience with caged-at-night buns is that they’re not always in agreement with being caged…. and pull and push at bars and thump too…..
(Mine wakes me with hs thumps from one floor up and through a closed door…..!!!)

You can try… but, from one bunny slave to another, be warned.

Personally, I would put his cage in the area that he’s going to be free roam. Then he can go in and out of his cage as he wishes to use the litter box or just feel safe!! Let us know what you decide
