Hello, me and my partner have had our delightful little bunny Sampii for about 3 months now. We got her when she was around a month old, she is a lovely bunny and at first she was very tame and well behaved, quite shy too but I think that is what is expected as a very young bunny still exploring her surroundings.

Recently we have been seeing a drastic change in Sampii’s behaviour. She has started to eat rather erratically, when we go to feed her its as if she can’t wait for the bowl to be put back in her cage again and will fight our hands out of the way to get to the food. We feed her a regular amount a day, the average bunny bowl of pellets. When she is let out to run around in our apartment she will just try to eat anything! She has eaten books, boxes, paper, gnawed her way through a candle and a suitcase, just about anything she can get her teeth into she has tried it! I respect that it is not her fault that she has been let run around our apartment so freely and now we have made sure she is not allowed to just run where she likes, and now have it bunny proofed.

But another concern is her behavior when she is around us, she can be so lovely and snuggley and all of a sudden erratically lick you which then leads to biting when we try to slowly pull away from her, she is not showing signs of aggression but it is rather disturbing us and we would really appreciate some help or information on what we can do to help Sampii

        Thank you for reading

It sounds like Sampli is entering puberty, and is starting to be ruled by the hormones that are present now. These new behaviors should go away after she has been spayed and a few weeks have passed.
