I was so excited for my iris pet pens to arrive but bleh
So first the bar spacing scared me – a lot of research later I was satisfied it’ll be ok
Then he could climb it easy – the bars are thick giving him leverage – he’s never been a trouble maker – never climbed or chewed or attempt escape prior – so I Brought mesh to make a top ( consider ordering the one company makes but it comes quite down the sides and I knew he may be tempted to eat mesh )
And now he can climb out pushing the mesh out the way despite cable tie mesh top

              Mmm… our entire apartment. lol
He was caged for the first few months of his life until I adopted him, and then penned for a few days after his neuter. But other than that, he’s never had an enclosure – we don’t even own one (the pen was borrowed).

And 4 children ( 3 are 5 and under ) plus we have balance issues , autism and other factors in the house that make being gentle difficult …
I love the look of the iris pen but they are proving too much work – I had plans of making a floor and lino on it which is fine – but now my roof doesn’t work either – and the bar spacing will still be too big for awhile yet for Boston …

Wish I had some sage advice to offer… I’m sure you’ll find a solution eventually. Buns have a knack for inspiring creativity in their hoomans.

Oh I gave up halfway through this convo and went back to his prior home
I’ll just buy Boston the same as Oakley’s once he has finished his meds course and sell both the iris pens
Safer and less stressful that way
