Peanut and Buttercup have a few blankets – 2 in their carrier case which is always out and can be used as a bed. But it never gets used. Peanut will dig at the blankets but that’s about it. They also have another blanket under the computer table. I did originally put it under the sideboard but they refused to lay on it  They’ve also just got a nice plush cat cushion bed which has gone untouched! I see so many lovely beds and plush soft cushions but resist the temptation to buy them because I know my bunnies will just ignore them.

Do your bunnies like cat beds and blankets and such to lay on?

Same with Luna – she’s happy with just a bare floor. The only blanket she does lay on is her fleece by the TV. She likes to groom herself and eat her cecals in that spot, so I put the blanket down to spare the carpet from any cecal staining, and fortunately she stays on the blanket during that.

Amelia likes having a blanket in her cage but she doesn’t sleep on it, she rearranges it digs it and cuddles it. She has another blanket on out ottoman and one of my scarves, she lays with and cuddles them

My bunnies have fleece blankets and memory foam mats.

I have seagrass mats. Two of my bunnies have been voracious nibblers and don’t know yet about this newest addition. However the thought of them eating fibers scares me. I had a cat condo once and that was a big mistake. They all seem to be padded with longer strand carpet. My first bunny ripped (and ate) a lot of that before I stopped it. Plus when he pulled the carpet out there were exposed nails! That one came from Petsmart.

Bam likes soft stuff to lie on. The other day a pillow had fallen out of my bed, and Bam found it and fell asleep on it He also loves vet beds. I have vet beds in his IKEA beds, and he really loves lounging on them. But when I got him a plush cat bed, he destroyed it in one night :/

Oakley and Boston both like blankets and sea grass mats and LOVE cat beds! Boston especially – but I had to remove them as he drags wee out on his paws the odd time and it gets wee footprints on his bed and I can’t find a machine washable one yet

Forgot to add that when Jet, my last, moved into his huge bunny maze, I put down a simple sheet so he wouldn’t have to sit on the cold tile floor. Of course in the summer, cold tile would be welcome….

Maybe I have a weird bunny, but,.. Yoyo LOVES his blanket lol…its just a small sized baby blanket.. when I first got it, I would use it to lay on my carpet, in his x pen.. he didn’t bother with it, for about a good 2 weeks.. one night, he discovered he could go under it, and .. he has been in love with it since lol.. he will drag it all over the house with him sometimes too.. when hes sleepy during the day, he is 90 % of the time, underneath his ” wubby ” xD

He has a bed too, but, he doesn’t seem too attached to it.. he prefers his hidey hut over the bed.

I’m so envious, I’d love to see Peanut and Buttercup snuggled on their lovely cat bed or blanklets or pillows! But alas it’s not meant to be! Ah well, as long as they’re happy and comfy sleeping directly on the carpet

Olly has a medium sized plastic dog bed, he has all old towels and baby blankets in it.

But he pushes his bedding to one side and lays on the hard plastic.

I had given Guin and Merlin a cat bed once. Between the two of them, I foung Guins hair allover it, so she had been using it, but Merlin shredded it. I bought another cat bed for Guin and Lancelot (after Merlin’s death). They peed on it so I took it away. They like towels and blankets to rearrange and shove around. They have fleece vet bedding because Lancelot is super skinny and loves his fleece. But Guin pees on it, so have numerous fleece mats for them and I swap them out and wash them. Avalon and Morgana are destructo shredding bunnies. No fleece or towels or cat beds for them. They do like to chew through the linoleum to reach the carpet and sit on it. So I feel bad for them and give them a towel – and in a week or a few weeks, it is shredded. They turn fleece bedding into a pile of fleece threads.

Malibu likes to drag my shirts into his box-house and sleep on them, so I gave him an old shirt. He loves to make a little shirt mountain out of my dirty clothes. Sometimes he prefers the bare, cold floor, though. Some rabbits just don’t seem to mind where they sleep, I guess. He used to push his bedding aside in his cage to lay on the floor, so he doesn’t have shavings anymore, just his blankie.

My pair like to lay on the fleece in their cage, if they dig it up and shift it into a small pile, they’ll then sit on that small pile and avoid the lino. Outside of their cage they lay wherever, on the rug (which isn’t soft) on their plush bath mat, or they also have one of those canvas dog beds on a frame, and they actually really love hanging out on that.

                                          Hello
Just been reading through this thread and found it very helpful and made me think about my own buns!
I have wood flooring all through my lounge, kitchen and hallway where the bunnies are kept. They are both obsessed with trying to follow me into the bedrooms which have carpet and as soon as they are in there they spend the entire time running all over the place, binkying, digging and chewing on the carpet!
Should I perhaps buy a rug for them to have in the living room as they seem to enjoy this more than the wood floor? Also, is it okay for them to eat this sort of stuff? They’ve had a good chew at my curtains, pillows and blankets so is this okay? They have loads of wooden and wicker stuff to chew but they prefer to eat my things… haha

Tony literally just started sleeping on a blanket about three days ago. I was just telling my friend how odd it was… He has a padded blanket that he flops beside, he had a fleece blanket that he ignored completely, and a cat bed that he destroyed. I tried moving the padded blanket to where he napped most but it annoyed him and he dug at it until it moved. I had put the fleece blanket on top of a box so he could climb on it, and he chewed it a bit but never slept on it, but the other day the box started to look a bit weak, so I removed it and left the blanket where it was (between his cage and the wall), and he seems to love it? I have no idea why.

Having said that, he does like to chill out on the sofa/cushions when I’m not in the room, so he clearly digs the softness, but otherwise just the carpet does the job.

Definitely get a rug or something so they have traction to binky It’s best to stop them if they’re chewing those sorts of things as threads can get caught up in their tummies.

Sadly no. He enjoys rearranging MY blankets on the sofas… or helping me make the bed by squishing the duvet…. or lounging at full stretch on the duvet…. but any designated Chewie blankies or beds or cushions get pointedly ignored

I bought Meki a cat bed for her 6th birthday and she LOVES it. If I don’t immediately know where she is, I check her bed and find her. Likewise, if there’s a place I want her to be, I place her bed there and I can expect she’ll stay there. Now that she’s an over-the-hill bunny and maybe loosing a bit of her sight after her nasty eye infection last summer, I figure I won’t discourage her from her old-age pleasures.

But I might have to buy her a new bed for her 7th birthday in August. This one’s going pretty flat, lol
