So chito had always been eating oxbow Timothy hay. He liked that okay. But supply in Indonesia runs thin and it’s nearly unpredictable, so we changed brands to alfalfa King 2nd cut Timothy hay, which he eats very happily- more happily than he did oxbow Timothy, even. He’s active and pooping really well.

When he was eating oxbow Timothy, he drinks up to 700ml of water a day. But now he barely drinks that much, possibly just half. I wonder if this is normal? I try to coax him to drink by putting the bowl wherever he happens to be, but he just didn’t seem to want to drink that much. I’m okay with adding a drop or two of honey to his water, but it’d be nice to hear from y’all first.

Oh my that sounds like a ton of water
How much does your bunny weigh?
My 2.3kg bunny drinks around 240 mL.

?he’s a dutchie, about 2ish kgs I think. He just likes drinking- it can get pretty hot here in Indonesia, even indoors. Now it changes, and I’m not sure if it’s good for him. I suppose I’ll try putting add-ons like ice cubes or a bit of fresh fruit juice in the water?

Oh oops @.@ I live in a cold area so no wonder there is such a difference in how much our bunnies drink.
Does his poops look good? Maybe watch over if they change size, which could mean he does need more water.
My research did say that 700mL of water was a little too much, but like you said Indonesia is hot… Hmm.. I don’t know if this is good for him, but if he drinks less than 260mL I would be worried.
