Today I was picking dandelion for salad and for my bunnies. I remembered that I once bought dried dandelion roots and my buns loved them. I was wondering if I have to dry them or can I give my bunnies fresh dandelion roots?
        Thanks for answers!

Hi! I looked on a lot of forums and I could only find that the root is safe on two forums. But both if them said that it is safe to feed it fresh. Personally I would give it, but in just a small amount, since your bunnies are(probably? ) not used to fresh root and so you can catch any weird reactions if there are any.

Paige, thank you for your answer!
I googled a lot but couldn’t find much about fresh root too. But I think it should be safe, because rabbits in the wild probably eat it fresh.
I gave them a piece of fresh dandelion root earlier and they nibbled on it and ate some. So far so good.
Dandelion root is supposed to be good for their tummies.

I was advised that dried dandelion root can have a laxative effect so don’t give too much just in case.
