So, Sebastian and Juliet are newly bonded rabbits, and are loving it. They love each other. I did witness something strange tonight. I take Sebastian to out local library for the children to read books and to pet him. I am part of an organization called Furever As Friends in NJ. He loves it. Today, when I put him back in the cage with Juliet, she immediately started to hump his head and rear. He humped her too. Why? After the humping episode ended, everything seemed back to normal, she was grooming him and he laid down. The two are now munching on lettuce and pellets, not humping each other. Why did they do that?

I imagine he must have smelt a bit different. You shouldn’t really separate rabbits once they’re bonded unless absolutely necessary. Maybe they had to reestablish their hierarchy?

Ok, the next time I do this, I will take both of them, she isn’t certified to do it but she can still come to get used to it.
