So Clover has settled in, and has free range of my tiny house.  No cage, but a series of mats she can walk/lay on in the kitchen where one of her litter pans is, along with her food and water bowls.  She and Dawn (My daughter’s Black Otter Netherland Dwarf) are getting along like they were made to be friends.  But……(You knew there was a but coming, right?)….I’m noticing that Clover is “missing” the litter pan at night with her urine.  Dawn gets put in her cage at night, because she’s a little bun and I worry she’ll get hurt at night, but Clover doesn’t.

So I’m wondering, is this missing the pan Clover’s way of telling us she doesn’t like being alone and in the dark, away from both us and Dawn at night?   Clover would happily sleep in bed with me at night (And has), but she also has a bad habit of pooping in her sleep and waking up and digging at me for pets at 2 in the morning.

Also, in the morning she’s almost manic when we get up, grunting and honking and digging at me when I sit down.

All that aside, I’m so glad she’s home.

Have you tried a night light in the kitchen, Bladesmith?

Haven’t, but will.  Think I’m going to sleep on the couch tonight and see what’s what.

Did two things last night.  Left the kitchen light on, and let Dawn have free roaming rights.  MUCH better results.  I tried sleeping on the couch, but my back and hip slapped me around for the thought of doing it.

She was much happier it seems.  Side effect; I got up in the middle of the night to check on things, as I am wont to do, and found that Dawn had snuck down the hall, into my daughters room, and had hopped up on the bed to sleep and cuddle with her.  Squee.
