        Hi!

I just registered to ask probably a very silly question…

My bun is in my bedroom, and the winter air and heater is realllllly drying out my skin. I’d like to put a humidifier in the room during the night. I searched and it looks like the general consensus is that the humidifier won’t hurt my bunny, but what about her hay? Will the extra moisture in the air make it moldy? I’m learning towards no since hay can be stored outside, but I figured I would ask y’all so I don’t end up wasting a whole bunch of it!

I don’t use a himidifier for the rabbits. I think it is a good idea for birds, since the dry air actually does cause them to get irritted sinues/skin, but I don’t think it is a must have for bunnies. My winter air also makes my sin dry and itchy. But I dont’ feel that my rabbits have suffered, and I wouldn’t want to change things up and introduce mold/moisture issues. I keep bags of hay in the rabbit room, and bales of hay in the garage. The garage stays humid, but I dont’ use a dehumidifier in the garage since it drives up the electric bill. Instead, I use window fans and I blow the garage air outside.
