Hello:   New owner and member here. Just got a very tiny 8 week old bunny.  Supposedly gonna finish around 2 pounds. She is potty trained already.  We bought her a very nice cage, but it has a wire floor.  We covered it with indoor/outdoor carpet but have begun to notice it looks like she digs and pulls at the carpet and we are afraid she may be eating some of it.  We are looking for an alternative to line the bottom of her cage with.  We are thinking of using textured linoleum (she cant get at the edges due to the way the cage is constructed}.  We would probably be using some straw on top of the lino.  Anyone see any negatives in this?  We also thought of using some old ceramic tiles we have but I think they would be too cold and not enough traction. We also have an old piece of plexi that could fit….but I have concerns re traction etc. Anyway…anyone have comments/suggestions? Thank you for your input.

        Regards
        Grant

I would suggest covering it with ply wood covered in vinyl tiles, sheeting, or even linoleum, but just glue it to the wood and insert it to the cage!
          Hope this helps!

Hi Niagara, congrats on your new bun!
Linoleum sounds like a good option. How big is your cage and is your rabbit living outdoors? Straw is a good bedding for short haired bunnies who live outside. But if your bunny lives inside, fleece would be better if she doesn’t chew it.
