Me and my mom have gone out to buy some new hay and pellets for Lilo and babies. The store we went to did not have our sworn by brand,Kaytee’s hay. But they did have wild Timothy hay. It has rye and looks very fresh. Is it okay? The woman said it would be but what does she know? She didn’t know we had bunnies. And also, we were able to get Kaytee brand pellets. They have a lot of nutrients and vitamins which are good. But it has those little colored bits. Is that also okay or will I have take them out?

I’m going to delete your identical topic to avoid confusion-members can reply here.
Rye and Timothy are both great hays for bunnies. As far as the pellets, anything with any colored bits or seeds is not usually reccomended for bunnies as they are known to selectively feed, as well as the choking hazard these pieces present. I would remove as many of the colored/non-pelleted bits as you can until you can purchase a more suitable pellet. Brands such as as Oxbow, with no colored bits, are great.
Just a heads up-BB is a house rabbit forum and does not allow extended discussion of baby bunnies/litters, as many here are not educated in such things.

Pellets with colourful pieces in are bad for bunnies, stick to plain (boring) pellets. It’s worth mentioning if you change pellets, you need to switch gradually.

Kaytee pellets aren’t the greatest because they do not have enough vitamins. I suggest oxbow because oxbow has lots more vitamins. Chewy and Dr foster Smith have good prices for rabbit pellets if you cannot afford to get them in store.
