The time has come for me to, for the first time, repurchase the things I add to my bunnies’ water, and I realized I only use them because the pet store told me to buy them when I got my first bunny back in December. The two things I add are Marshall’s GoodBye Odor for small animals and Marshall’s Probiotic Digestive Tract Conditioner. I guess my questions are 1)are these products safe for my bunnies? and 2)are they necessary, or better than just water? I would love to know if anyone has experience with these products. Thanks guys!

Hi Maddie,.. of the 2 you listed, I have only ever used one,.. the Odor one,.. Marshall Farms, is a ferret multi breeder/manufacturer of now, a huge line of small animal products…I haven’t ever considered using any of their water additives, for my bunny tho. – I don’t know enough about them, research-wise, to say anything either good, nor bad, but,.. I really don’t think buns need anything special added to their water, as long as they are kept on a decently healthy diet… rabbits, don’t exude ANY odor, thru their bodies, which, is totally opposite for ferrets, who excrete a VERY powerful oil thru their skin,.. I cant at all, fathom a reason, why a rabbit would need that particular additive in their water.

ETA – I used to keep ferrets, and rescues, for around 14-15 yrs

I wouldn’t use water additives – if your bun has a good healthy diet, they won’t be necessary anyway and when adding things to water there’s the risk that the rabbit won’t drink as much.
