So Eevee is stuck in a “cone” for another two weeks while her stitches are healing after she ripped them out. Except it’s not exactly a cone. It’s something the vets made for her specifically. It’s a round piece of plastic that juts out around her head. Think the acid-spitting Dino from Jurassic Park with the frill. It’s blocking her from eating all of her cecals and it’s just making everything messy in general. It blocks her from grooming herself and gets her cecals squashed all over it and her. She doesn’t want me to touch her feet or belly so it’s hard to clean her off and she’s been resistant to me trancing her for any reason.

Has anyone else had issues like this that they could give me advice on? I hate that she’s having to be so stinky and that she’s forced to make a mess like this. Anything would be appreciated.

This may not help much…but my vet has this surgical shirt displayed for pets including for bunnies. I’m wondering if that would be an option for you instead of the cone…maybe cut an opening to let her go potty but cover her stitches.
Sorry I can’t be of more help

It will be messy, but messy is better than a life threatening infection. If you can, you can try to feed her her cecals. Try to keep up with brushing/grooming and to wash use a lightly damp warm wash clothe to get any stuck cecals out of her fur

I try to wash her but like I said, she flys off whenever I touch her feet or look like I’m going to touch her feet. Is there any trick you know of to get me access to her feet?
