As some of you know Rookie has been on a lot of meds lately for his tooth…it got to the point where I felt bad having to force the syringe as he would just fight it with his tongue. So to ease his stress a bit, as well as mine, I found a treat that is hollow and can fit a good amount of meds that he chews away on no muss no fuss. A half can fit ouright 0.64ml dose no problem.
I know we have a lot of recovering buns here so I figured I’d share. The name of the chew is the Vitakraft Slims with Alfalfa.

I feel you, had to go through pretty bad teeth problems with my bun. I ended up having to ask the vet for only injectable meds last time!
Glad that you found a good method for your bun! Good luck to the both of you!

Another method I have seen is with lettuce (or silverbeet/spinach or similar greens with a thick stem) There is usually a thick vein in the stem which you can either hollow with a skewer or draw liquid from with a syringe. Then you inject the meds back into that vein. I’ve never tried it, but apparently it works well

              That’s genius!
