Ever since my bun broke her leg she hasn’t been eating as much. She would eat treats, even the day it broke. She will eat most of her pellets at night but never finish them (2 tbs but she normally has 3 as she doesn’t eat all of it). Most importantly though she isn’t eating her hay. She has a few bites every night but nowhere near what she ate before. She has 2 types of hay avalible too. She has Timothy and alfalfa, both very green (Oxbow small bags). I’m really scared. I’ve tried herbs but she still isn’t having anywhere near the amount she is supposed to. I’m taking her to the vet soon to get her cast checked and I’m going to ask about it then but I need some quick replies and this site seems to be great for finding quick bunny related Info from good, rabbit loving people.

Is she on a pain killer? If not she needs to be to help encourage her to eat.

If she’s eating very little, she might be in pain and in need of some metacam or something. Does she move around much? You could put hay in lots of different spots so she is always surrounded by it. Or you could try to hand feed her some?

I have a pain killer/Stasis med for her. Last night she ate a bit more than normal though. (All her pellets-yay) if she doesn’t eat normally tonight then I’ll ask the vet if I can give her a tiny bit of the medecine, I remember on day 5 I had to give her just a drop on her lettuce and she ate more than she had the day before. I did also just give her the anti inflammatory/pain reliever. I think she will be eating more but I will definitely take all this into consideration if it’s not the same tomorrow

There is a website called bingalingstore.com They have hay called crazy tasty hay, when I open the closet door and grab the bag Luna comes running and starts to binky. She loves it. She also eats hay from small pets select but not with the same kind of excitement!
